Bashline, Pittman, Hutchinson Secure Over $2.3 Million in State Funding for Clarion, Armstrong Counties

HARRISBURG – Rep. Josh Bashline (R-63) and Sens. Joe Pittman (R-41) and Scott Hutchinson (R-21) secured over $2.3 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grant funding for Clarion and Armstrong counties to support various local infrastructure, public safety and community resource projects.

The following allocations were obtained by Bashline and Pittman:
• Cowanshannock Township Municipal Authority: $1 million to repair and replace water treatment valves and filters.
• Wayne Township: $426,835 to purchase a road grader.
• Worthington West Franklin Joint Municipal Authority: $162,000 to clean water wells in West Franklin Township.

Bashline and Hutchinson acquired funding for the following projects:
• Clarion County: $271,872 to purchase and upfit four police vehicles for Clarion County Sheriff’s Department.
• Limestone Township: $157,000 to buy a tractor.
• Clarion Borough: $122,000 to acquire an upfitted plow truck.
• East Brady Borough: $103,000 to buy a truck upfitted with a snowplow, a stainless-steel gas spreader, and an LED light bar; and a roller to be used to compact bituminous materials during road patching and paving work.
• Clarion Borough: $58,000 to purchase a police vehicle with an upfit package for the Clarion Borough Police Department.

“This announcement represents a commitment to our communities and the people who call them home,” said Bashline. “By securing these critical resources, we can address pressing needs, strengthen our neighborhoods and improve services. It is a privilege to fight for valuable funding in Harrisburg, and it would not be possible without Sens. Pittman and Hutchinson.”

The grants were approved and awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which was established as an independent agency that holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth. LSA grants are derived from gaming revenues.
