Fire, EMS Grants Awarded to 63rd District

February 12, 2026

HARRISBURG –Rep. Josh Bashline (R-Clarion/Armstrong) announced more than $460,000 in grant funding will support fire companies and emergency medical services in the 63rd District.

“Our fire and EMS personnel put service above self every day, answering the call in moments of crisis with professionalism, courage and compassion,” said Bashline. “Their dedication and sacrifice are the backbone of our communities, and we are deeply grateful for all they do to keep us safe. While I appreciate seeing these funds coming to our district, it is not enough. I hope to see heavy increases in future allocations.”

Established by the Legislature, the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program is administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner. The grant money comes from state gaming proceeds as required under state law. It was first initiated in 2000 and is open to volunteer and career fire companies, emergency medical services and rescue squads in Pennsylvania. Grant awards can be used for construction or repair of facilities, purchase or repair of equipment, debt reduction, recruitment, retention, public education about fire safety and training. The funding amounts are contingent on the recipients filing their grant agreements with the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.
