Bashline Announces $440,000 for Fire, EMS Companies in 63rd District

HARRISBURG - Rep. Josh Bashline (R-Clarion/Armstrong) announced today that fire and ambulance companies in the 63rd Legislative District will collectively receive more than $440,000 in state grants to support their public safety mission.

“Funding our fire and ambulance companies benefits us all,” Bashline said. “These grants will help make sure our first responders can continue their life-saving work.”

The funding comes from an ongoing grant program created by the Legislature which is administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC). Projects eligible for funding include construction or renovation of a fire or ambulance company facility, purchase or repair of equipment, training, or reduction of existing debt.

All companies that apply and meet requirements outlined by OSFC receive funding. Companies must file a grant agreement with OSFC to receive their grants.

The grants were awarded as follows:

• Callensburg-Licking Township Volunteer Fire Company – $12,448.81.
• Clarion Fire and Hose Company No. 1 – $12,233.63.
• Clarion Hospital EMS – $15,000.
• Dayton District Volunteer Fire Company – $12,879.17.
• Distant Area Volunteer Fire Department – $12,663.99.
• East Brady Area Ambulance Service – $15,000.
• East Brady Volunteer Fire Department – $13,524.70.
• Elderton District Volunteer Fire Company – $12,233.63.
• Farmington Township Volunteer Fire Company – $12,018.46.
• Hawthorn Area Volunteer Fire Department – $12,018.46.
• Hose Company No. 6 Kittanning (EMS) – $15,000.
• Hose Company No. 6 Kittanning (Fire) – $13,739.88.
• Hose Hook and Ladder Company No. 1 – $12,233.63.
• Kittanning Hose Company No. 4 – $12,233.63.
• Kittanning Township Volunteer Fire Department No. 1 – $13,094.35.
• Knox Area Volunteer Ambulance Company – $15,000.
• Knox Volunteer Fire Company – $13,094.35.
• Limestone Township Volunteer Fire Company – $12,018.46.
• Millcreek Township Volunteer Fire Department – $12,018.46.
• New Bethlehem Fire Company 1 – $12,879.17.
• Parker City Volunteer Fire Company – $25,524.70.
• Pine Township Volunteer Fire Company – $12,879.17.
• Rayburn Township Volunteer Fire Company – $12,018.46.
